Nikka Yoichi Non Age 700ml

Yoichi malts are bold and assertive, with refined peaty flavors and smokiness from the traditional direct coal-fired distillation. During aging, the sea breeze from Ishikari Bay imparts a saline note to the whisky.

Yoichi Single Malt is reminiscent of Nikka’s first distillery, which was founded in 1934. Masataka Taketsuru, the company’s creator, picked Yoichi in Hokkaido because it has similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he learnt how to make whisky.

When all age-statements were eliminated, this no-age-statement variant was released in 2016 as a permanent product that really retains the true style of Yoichi malts. This bottling displays a subtle balance of peaty, smokey, and fruity characteristics by vatting several distinct malt whiskies together.
