The colour is a brilliant gold. Subtly smokey with green herbal undertones on the nose. On the palate, it’s lightly peated with touches of earthiness, pineapple, and citrus aromas, with a nuanced finish and lingering peatiness.

The typical Yamazaki offerings aren’t particularly peaty, but this bottle represents an opportunity to change that. It’s prepared using solely American oak barrels and hogsheads that have been highly peated, which accounts for a very small fraction of normal Yamazaki.
