An unconstrained and elegant wine with a fruity aromatic pallet, a lovely freshness on the palate, and silky tannins that meld into a creamy texture. It may be drunk young but also extremely nicely aged, thanks to its exquisite Margaux characteristics. A small miracle in which the Château takes great pride. Grape varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

Emile Grange, who had recently purchased Château Giscours from the Cruse family, sought to add his own stamp to the property. He made out the drawing of a mermaid on the cast iron plate one winter evening while sitting in front of one of the stoves in the living room. This simple vision enchanted him and tormented his dreams. The similar pattern appeared on the crest of the Irishman Jean O’Byrne, who established an influential trading firm in Bordeaux and purchased the adjoining castle, La Houringue, in the 1750s.
