Chateau Latour Grand Vin Pauillac 2000 750ml

Description

The fruit in this wine is still very much in the primary stage, with notes of raspberry coulis, cassis, and blackberry reduction that have a decidedly racy feel to them and are tinged with violet, iron, and graphite characteristics. The fruit and grip are still blending together in the extremely lengthy finish, which alternates between a tug of sweet earth and a velvety feel. However, there is so much vigor in this that there is little concern with waiting it out. However, there can be a long wait. That this can distinguish itself from the rest of the elite field of 2000 is rather astounding.

One of Bordeaux’s and the world’s most renowned wineries is Château Latour. It is located in the Médoc area, on the edge of Saint-Julien, in the southeast corner of the Pauillac commune. It is one of the most prestigious and expensive wine producers in the world and is classified as a First Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It produces highly structured Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines with a long shelf life.
