Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils Ladoix 1er Cru La Corvee 2020 750ml

The “La Corvée” 1er cru from Ladoix has a dark, brooding colour. Cherry and black fruit fragrances are detected in the nose. The structure is covered with a smooth, meaty flesh on the palate. Black berry flavours linger in the end, which also gets more complex.

This Ladoix 1er cru label is a great match for any recipe that features roasted or stuffed fowl. The “Epoisses” and other stronger cheeses go well with this. Depending on the vintage, the wine might be matured for 5 to 10 years.

Ladoix “La Corvée” is located next to the renowned Corton mountainside in the northern portion of the Côte de Beaune, and is actually geologically near the southernmost point of the Cote de Nuits. The domaine’s oldest plot is this one, which was planted in 1943. It has a beautiful stony red soil and looks directly south.
