Produttori del Barbaresco produces Langhe Nebbiolo from declassified Barbaresco fruit (often from parcels on lower slopes), so production volumes are significantly reduced in better vintages when more of the prime fruit finds its way into their delicious village Barbaresco DOCG or one of the classy nine Cru Riservas. This young 2020 Nebbiolo has excellent potential, with an immediately appealing variety of aromatics that include dark cherry, damson plum, sweet herbs, blood orange, and a little menthol top note.

The palate is consistently strong and potent, with medium-bodied red and black berry fruits, macerated strawberries, and sweet cherries, as well as an underlying cool, smooth elegance and fresh acid vibrancy. The finish is creamy and plush, with soft plump tannins, delicate peppery black liquorice aromas, and a smooth, weightless length. This 2020, which is delightfully simplified and accessible, continues Produttori del Barbaresco’s great run of vintages. Drink between 5 and 8 years after release.
