White Oak Single Malt Whisky Akashi – Aged 8 Years Old Sherry Butt

$249.00 including GST

Description

Buttered hot cross buns, chocolate peanuts, lemongrass, and a little hint of peppery rye grain on the nose. Cherry bakewells and a loaf of walnut bread. On the taste, sweet cereals with a nutmeg and black pepper dusting. With a medium length and a pleasant finish of dried apricot and oatcake.

Akashi whisky is the world’s only whisky manufactured by a Toji (grand-master in the art of sake production) by incorporating sake-making methodology into the whisky-making process. The distil pot used is smaller than those used by Scottish and other Japanese distilleries, resulting in lower fusel alcohol levels. As a result, Akashi whisky does not need to be aged as long, and its core malt (new make) is smooth and delicate.

This Akashi single malt whisky was matured in old sherry barrels for 8 years before being released in a limited edition of 800 bottles.
