A pleasant all-rounder for today’s drinker, with moderate spice and sherry sweetness. Produced in very tall stills and aged in America White Oak ex-bourbon barrels for ten years. The finishing touch is a finish in Jerez, Spain’s best aged Oloroso Sherry barrels. A sweet, silky whisky with rich dark chocolate and vanilla cream flavours throughout.

Jura is one of Scotland’s most stunning but little-known islands, located close to the east of Islay off Scotland’s west coast. The Isle is 36,692 hectares in size and rises to a height of 785 meters. Jura has numerous interpretations, including “two brothers Dih and Rah,” “island of yew trees,” and “island of red deer.” However, with a human population of less than 200 and approximately 5000 red deer (the deer outnumber the people by approximately twenty-five to one), professional opinion favours the latter.

Jura whisky is made from Loch A’Bhaile Mhargaidh (Market Loch) water and ground malted barley. Because the loch is high in the hills, the water is not peaty. In pot stills, the wash is distilled twice. The stills’ high necks produce a light spirit. The whisky gains weight and depth from maturation in a combination of American oak and Sherry casks.
