Isle of Jura 18 Years 700ml

Jura 18 is the pinnacle of the Jura collection, softly smokey and full of rich fruit flavour. Aged for 18 years in bourbon casks before finishing in red wine casks, this skillfully combines the distillery’s gentle smoke with the casks’ hefty aromas. Nose to begin, enjoy creamy vanilla yoghurt with hazelnut overtones. A subtle mineral note emerges from behind, complementing sweet spiced bread, orange peel, brown sugar, and white pepper. Finally, a toffee and milk chocolate truffle appear. On the palate, soft spice emerges, pushing through sponge cake and orchard apple. Gentle aromas of barrel char offer a smoky background that gradually builds. The smoke is toned out by dried fruit, dark chocolate, and candied lemons.

On Jura, a small island community experiences time being stretched by the changing seasons and tempered by the island’s particular environment. Each single year brings its own treasures.

This whisky is aged for eighteen years in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels before being elegantly supplemented with exceptional Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques from the South of France. The end product is an exceptionally rich and delicious whisky with notes of cooked raspberries, toasty spice, rich caramel, and crème anglaise.
