Description

Aperol is the ideal aperitif, as the name suggests. It is bright orange in colour and has a distinct flavour due to the secret formula, which has never been altered, which includes infusions of selected components such as bitter and sweet oranges, as well as many other herbs (including rhubarb) and roots in ideal proportions.

Aperol became popular throughout Italy in the immediate postwar period and later years, particularly among young adults involved in social activities. The Aperol Spritz Life is contagious and swiftly spreads among everyone, reaching town squares through a world record event and a new TV advertisement with a lively and cheery mood.

Aperol has a long and romantic history in Italy. Aperol’s original secret recipe, an infusion of more than 30 fragrant herbs and spices including bitter and sweet orange, was established in 1919 by the Barbieri Family of Padua, Italy. The original recipe is still in use today. At the Padua Exhibition, it was offered as a breakthrough innovation as a spirit with an extraordinarily low alcohol concentration of only 11%. Most popular spirits at the time, and still today, have substantially higher alcohol concentrations. Aperol went on to become Italy’s most popular light spirit.
