Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 74 Single Malt 700ml

A’bunadh Batch 74 has arrived, having gone through the same aging procedure as prior editions, completely in ex-oloroso sherry butts. Bottled at cask strength, these are always fascinating and delicious malts that shine best after plenty of air contact and a few drops of water.

Batch 74 begins with mild smells of dried fruits, vanilla malt, ripe plums, and more savoury notes of wood shavings and peppercorns. The spirit heat is well managed, and it feels more calm than many previous releases. Uncut ginger, dry coconut, and delicious fruit cake flavors dominate. The finish is strong and velvety, with aftertastes of pepper, cocoa, dates, and fresh leather.

This batch has more American oak influence than Oloroso, so if you prefer huge, spicy Bourbons as well as all-natural malts, you’ll probably find much to love. To considerably improve the mouthfeel, only a small amount of water is required.
