Ruby red in colour. A potent and intricate blend of floral notes—moss, blonde tobacco, and wild fruits. This wine is simultaneously strong, robust, meaty, and refined. The excellent balance between tannins and fruit suggests considerable ageing potential. Best enjoyed with mature cheeses, marinated game, and spiced dishes. Domaine Edmond Cornu & Fils is a family estate in Ladoix, near the Côte de Nuits boundary, spanning approximately 15.5 hectares across the northern Côte de Beaune. The vineyard comprises 13.5 hectares of Pinot Noir, 1.5 hectares of Chardonnay, and 0.5 hectares of Aligoté. Pierre, Edith, and cousin Emmanuel manage the property with invaluable support from retired founder Edmond, who contributes natural fertilizer expertise and hands-on assistance.

This cuvée originates from two parcels on the slope at Aloxe-Corton's entrance: one planted 40 years ago on marl-limestone soil, the other established between 1942 and 1958 on sub-gravelly, clay-limestone terrain. The estate employs a pneumatic press allowing juice to flow freely without mechanical intervention, preserving delicate character and avoiding excessive hardness or firm tannins.
