M. Chapoutier Le Pavillon Ermitage Organic Wine 2018 750ml

Deep garnet red with purple undertones is the colour. It tastes like tarry, smokey raspberries, blackberries, walnuts, and licorice. The tongue is rich and complex, with a powerful assault, a long, smooth finish, and notes of cocoa, tobacco, and liquorice. A full-bodied beauty that combines fruity notes of blueberries with savoury notes of black olives and marries them together with rich, earthy notes. Almost creamy across the mid-palate, it finishes with soft waves of velvety tannins.

At Tain-L'Hermitage, Michel is a seventh-generation winemaker, having purchased the family estate in 1990. True "snapshots of the terroir," Michel's wines are very representative of the regions in which they are cultivated.
