Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 700ml

This smooth, flavourful, and very moreish whisky was made by combining malts that were 12 years of age and older, all of which had exclusively been matured in virgin Mizunara wood casks. Honey, coconut cream, and blueberries are on the tongue, while pineapple, orange, and nutmeg are on the nose. Ginger and vanilla aromas linger in the medium-length, slightly smoky finish. Yamazaki Limited Edition bottlings were among the most sought-after annual Japanese whisky releases on the market between 2014 and 2017. They delivered in quality, beauty, and collectibility while being limited in number and holding some rare, aged Yamazaki liquid inside.

Only until the realities of the looming whisky crisis set in did these excellent expressions go by the wayside, making way for a number of less-premium, NAS whiskies like the Essence of Suntory Volumes 3 and 4 and the latest Yamazaki Cask Finish releases. The good times have returned, at least somewhat, with the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021, and we now have some truly quality Yamazaki liquid to get our gums around.
