Known around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, and most complex single malt. However, it does not exaggerate the peat; rather, it allows the natural sweetness of the malt to shine through, resulting in a perfectly balanced whisky. In 2008, it was named World Whisky of the Year.

Millions of flavour explosions are started off by a crackling peat explosion: peat effervesces with tangy lemon and lime juice, and black pepper pops with scorching cinnamon-spiced toffee. The brine is then infused with creamy buttermilk, luscious bananas, and currants. Smoke slowly rises to the palate, bringing with it a taste of warm, creamy cappuccino and toasted marshmallows. Dry espresso, liquorice root, and tarry smoke build as the flavour lengthens and deepens, coating the palate with chewy peat oils.

The finish seems to go on forever. Long and smokey with tarry espresso, anise, roasted almonds, and hints of soft barley and crisp pear.
