Chateau Rieussec Sauternes Magnum 2018 1.5L

Rich, smooth, and intensely flavourful, Rieussec has been a superb liqueur for many years, exceeding Baron Eric de Rothschild’s 1984 standards for quality. It is without a doubt one of the most sought-after Sauternes, second only to its distinguished neighbor Yquem. For many years, Chateau Rieussec has been the premier wine of Sauternes. Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle are delicately blended to create this 1855 Premier Grand Cru wine.

A delicate shade of golden with hints of green. strong scent with a remarkable depth of flavour. Citrus zest notes emerge first, then lemon tart notes, and finally toasted notes evocative of just-baked brioche. The palate displays candied orange and mandarin zest, with a hint of star anise highlighting the wine’s fragrant freshness. Rich and dense, the palate is well-balanced and ends with a nice, subtle bitterness.
