Hames Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 750ml

Hames Creek has been nurturing the soil for hundreds of years as it winds through the rolling hills of southern Monterey County. Here, sun-drenched days give way to cool nights, enabling time to pass while retaining beautiful balance and structure. Aromas of blackberries and plums with herbal tarragon undertones. This medium-bodied wine is rounded out with hints of vanilla and sweet spiciness.

California’s Lush Cab is a distinctive community on the Central Coast. The Hames Valley wine region is built upon the watershed of the Hames Creek. Situated in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range in Monterey County, the property spans 10,240 acres. There is full sun because the valley stretches from east to west. Due to its distance from the bay and a range of hills that prevent much of the cold air from reaching the vineyards, it is shielded from the refreshing marine breezes that come down the Salinas Valley. Salinas Valley is lower in elevation than the Hames Valley.

This gives the valley the biggest diurnal temperature swings in Monterey County, shielding the grapes from the ocean breezes yet drastically cooling the valley at dusk. The vines are shielded from wind stress by the valley’s east-west direction.

This Cabernet is temperature-controlled and has a light oak aging flavour. A luscious, velvety texture blends with flavours of vibrant cherry and berry, as well as gentle tannins. An incredible value!
