This red wine, sourced directly from the community of Elciego in the Rioja Alavesa, has long sparked interest in the art world. Currently available in over 100 countries, many prominent persons have fallen to its perfume and flavor, being immortalized in some of their works. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a great writer or a famous artist to appreciate this red wine made from tempranillo, graciano, and mazuelo. The provenance of these grapes is varied, as Marqués de Riscal owns roughly 600 hectares. The remainder comes from several vineyards that work with this winery to maintain the company’s quality standards (vines over 40 years old grown on clay and limestone soils).
