This limited edition single malt from Miyagikyo was released in September 2017 and finished in ex-Moscatel wine casks for twelve months. Moscatel, a fortified white wine from Portugal crafted with sweet muscat grapes, imparts distinctive character throughout. The nose reveals fresh muscat and sweet malt aromatics with subtle cask woodiness. On the palate, evident muscat grape notes combine with sweet fruitiness and cask influence, leading to a lengthy, sweet finish of dried fruit balanced by gentle cask bitterness. The spirit maintains a lingering, full-bodied presence.
