Description

Oban 14 Year Old has a sweet, peaty nose with hints of burnt heather, echoed on the palate alongside a touch of creaminess. Located in the town of Oban, the distillery draws its water from Loch Gleann a’Bhearraidh, whose freshness is complemented by a subtle hint of peat.

Ground, malted barley is washed with heated water and fermented to produce a beer-like wash, which is then distilled twice in pot stills. The spirit is matured for 14 years in old bourbon casks, where the casks’ softness complements its gentle, salty peat character.
