This wine starts out hard and dry but quickly blossoms with its exquisite fruit and cutting acidity. This black-currant and berry fruit’s intricate texture and structure are maintained by fine tannins. The wine, which is made from biodynamic grapes, has a lot of potential.
Since the end of the 18th century, people have recognized and valued Château Durfort-Vivens wine for its superior quality. It is listed after Lafite, Latour, and Margaux in Thomas Jefferson’s intriguing trip journals as the future president of the United States and ambassador to France. This connoisseur’s assessment will be supported by the 1855 classification, which assigns it the status of Second Cru Classé. The Château Margaux firm, whose largest stakeholder at the time was the Lurton family, acquired the cru in 1937.This excellent vineyard was purchased and rehabilitated in 1961 by Lucien Lurton, a dedicated and ardent supporter of wine-growing terroirs. Vine care and vinification adhere as closely as feasible to the terroir’s characteristics.
