The name wood Cross refers to the use of both American and French wood in the maturing of this whisky. Oak Cross is a rich, medium-bodied blended malt Scotch whiskey that combines vanilla from American oak with spicy, clove-like notes from French oak. By carefully blending back the French oak-aged whisky with its American oak-aged forebear, the Whisky Maker is able to create a refined, rich, yet well-mannered malt whisky, with fruity notes reminiscent of baked apples or pears, balanced by a rich, toasty oak flavour.
