Bird in Hand Merlot 2015 750ml

This limited release wine is made from the finest Merlot lots from 2016. To maximize flavour and tannin extraction, hand-selected grapes were crushed in small open fermenters and pumped over twice daily (for seven days). The wine was left on the skins for 10 days before being pressed and aged for 14 months in fresh and one-year-old French oak barrels. This wine is deep crimson in colour and has rich notes of mulberry, cherry, and spice. The palate is robust and well-structured, with meaty plums and spice, a delicate silky texture, and a lengthy, strong tannic finish. The richness and vitality of the fruit ensure a lengthy and persistent finish for this balanced and beautiful wine. Cellaring will result in rewards.
