Bird in Hand Merlot 2015 750ml

This limited edition wine is crafted from the best Merlot lots from 2016. To maximize flavour and tannin extraction, hand-selected grapes were crushed in small open fermenters and pumped twice day for seven days. The wine was left on the skins for 10 days before being crushed and matured for 14 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels. This wine is deep crimson in colour and boasts rich aromas of mulberry, cherry, and spices. The palate is robust and well-structured, with meaty plums and spice, a delicate smooth texture, and a long, powerful tannic finish. The richness and liveliness of the fruit create a long and persistent finish for this well-balanced and lovely wine. Cellaring will yield rewards.
