Description

The Masters wines are named after individuals or events that have played an important role in the Peter Lehmann story. Crafted from classic Barossa varietals, the wines are released after 5 years in the bottle and will age nicely for many years to come. The winery’s founder, Peter Lehmann, trained innumerable people during his 50-year career, and this wine is dedicated in his honour. Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon is designed to capture the best of the vintage. It demonstrates significant varietal definition by sourcing fruit from a variety of Barossa sub-regions, as well as the complexity of fruit from low-yielding old vineyards aged in French oak barrels.

This limited release is the best Barossa Cabernet of the season. Purple is a dense and bright shade. It captures incredible varietal definition with added complexity notes of lifted blackcurrant, vanilla, and chocolate with a youthful, ripe, and dark plum spectrum. The fruit weight is tremendous, but it blends with mouth-coating tannins, dusty French oak, and a lovely acid core.
