Conde Jose Reserva Privada Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 750ml

A Chilean dry red wine. It was produced in the Maipo region using only Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Rich in flavorus of blackberries, cherries, plums, and wild fruits, with a subtle chocolate undertone towards the end, this deep red wine has ruby reflections. Rich and well-balanced, with a lengthy, fruity finish and gentle tannins. The wine has traditional flavours of vanilla, spices, and tobacco because it was matured for more than a year in American oak barrels. It pairs well with game, roasts, and red meat.

The winery is situated in the renowned Colchagua Valley in Chile’s Apalta micro-terroir. With 28 hectares under production and intentions to add 30 hectares soon, its total area is 180 hectares. Granite soils in Apalta and clay soils in the valley’s lower portion allow for plenty of sunshine and ventilation, which produces mature wines with excellent structure (body). This mixture makes the soil ideal for growing types like Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the meantime, the grapes are able to ripen slowly in the new Las Terrazas location in the Leyda Valley, where they develop flavours, aromas, and natural acidity due to the cold coastal temperature and strong sea impact.

Its 146 hectares total land, of which 30 hectares are planted for Sauvignon Blanc, makes it especially appropriate for this variety. Under the direction of its two chief winemakers, 32-year-old Javiera Rojas and 50-year-old Pierre Viala, the vineyard employed 31 full-time workers as of 2022. Pierre and Javiera have extensive knowledge of wineries worldwide and have witnessed a wide range of styles in many nations and locales. Their mission is to “achieve the highest quality while always respecting the typicality and uniqueness of the Chilean terroir,” they stated. “We have a policy of respecting in all situations,” they added.
