Chateau D’issan Margaux 2014 750ml

$162.00 including GST

Description

The palate is medium-bodied and herbaceous on the entrance, but there is plenty of fruit behind it. The pepperiness of the Cabernet drives the structured and fairly masculine (for Margaux) finish of this d’Issan. This is beginning to demonstrate the class that was expected, and it may warrant a higher score in the future.

ChĂ¢teau d’Issan is classified as a Third Growth in the Imperial Classification of 1855. The wine is made from old vines in the ChĂ¢teau d’Issan enclosure, which is located in the heart of the Margaux appellation. The soil here is mostly made up of surface gravel on top of a clay subsoil, which helps these two grape varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, to be ripe and fresh. ChĂ¢teau d’Issan expresses the magnificent fragrance so typical of Margaux, and distinguishes out with its suppleness, refinement, elegance, and long-keeping potential derived from its distinct terroir. ChĂ¢teau d’Issan is matured for 16 to 18 months in barrels, half of which are new. The annual production is approximately 100,000 bottles.
