Tannins are quite plush and beautiful, with a smooth, juicy, and appealing finish that holds well and is flavourful. The construction was flawless. Absolutely amazing. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit-Verdot are the grape varieties.

Roast venison fillet with cocoa powder, pheasant filled with mushrooms, lamb fillet with country flavours, or roast beef with morel sauce go well with this lovely wine. Pair with uncooked pressed cheeses such as Edam, Gouda, Saint-nectaire, morbier, Tomme de Savoie, or Salers and especially great with tiramisu, praline macaroons, or a chocolate dome for dessert.

The 2016 vintage was a spectacular wine year for Bordeaux. Following a relatively cool spring, a spectacular summer began in the second half of June, scorching and marked by drought. A wonderful September month punctuated by a few rainfall advantageous to a return of ripeness permits Château Lascombes to offer a magnificent harvest.
