Chateau Duhart Milon Pauillac 2014 750ml

Description

Beautiful shade of dark red. Although reserved, the nose has good depth and complexity already. Under the distinctive flavors of fresh red fruit, which are predominately blackcurrants, the oak is well integrated. The assault is strong and rich on the palate, and the wine develops a lot of volume. The fruit keeps up a wonderful appearance. Already, the overall image is quite evenly balanced. The wine attests to its sophisticated, modern style. Despite being young, the tannins are smooth. In four to five years, this wine should begin to open up, and its peak should occur between 2020 and 2030.

The Château Duhart-Milon, which is situated in the center of the Pauillac vineyard, owes its creation to Sieur Duhart, a retired corsair of Louis XV who established himself at the city’s harbor. The wines of Milon, which are now regarded as Second wines, have been given as an annuity to the lord of Lafite since the seventeenth century.

During the renowned classification of 1855 for the World Fair in Paris, the Château Duhart-Milon will be ranked as the Fourth Grand Cru Classé.

The Domaines Baron de Rothschild, who were in charge of its famed neighbor, Château Lafite Rothschild, bought it in 1962.
