Chateau Carbonnieux 2019 750ml

$80.80 including GST

Description

A lovely aroma of rosehips, scarlet fruits, and undergrowth. The tongue is hungry and generous, with notes of brushwood and soil, followed by scents of coffee and chocolate on the finish. Pairs well with grilled meats, cheeses, chocolate desserts, and red fruits.

Château Carbonnieux, located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, is one of Bordeaux’s oldest wine estates, dating back to the 13th century. Marc Perrin purchased the château in 1956, and it was designated a Classified Growth in 1959 for its red and white wines.

The vineyard is divided into 119 plots dispersed across a variety of terroirs, from clay-limestone soils to Gunzian gravel. The 59 hectares dedicated to red grape types, like the rest of the vineyard, are designated High Environmental Value Level 3. The vineyard is managed on a plot-by-plot basis, using sustainable agricultural principles.
