Château La Fleur-Pétrus is mostly made of Merlot, which gives the wine silkiness and generosity. Cabernet Franc, grown on gravel and fine clay, adds rigor and complexity, while Petit Verdot, grown on fine gravel, adds a note of spice to the finish.
The wine blends a distinct finesse with the richness and structure typical of Pomerol’s outstanding vineyards. A careful taste reveals exceptional finesse, complexity, and a hint of violet.
The careful pairing of the legendary gravel and clay terroirs of the Pomerol plateau gives Château La Fleur-Pétrus its unique flavour. The vineyard’s uniqueness is derived from the nuances of soil and elevation of each parcel, which are positioned between 33 and 38 meters above sea level. The parcels dominated by gravel produce wines of exceptional finesse, whereas the parcels controlled by clay produce wines that are particularly velvety, thick, and structured.
