Domaine Du Meix-Foulot Chalonnaise 2021 750ml

The de Launay family has owned the Domaine du Meix Foulot for several generations. The grapes are taken care of as naturally as is practical. Short pruning is employed on the vines, no pesticides are applied, and natural compost fertilizer is applied sparingly.

A 0.7-hectare block of 15–20-year-old Pinot Noir grown in gravelly soil in the commune of Saint Denis de Vaux, in the valley separating Mercurey and Givry, is the source of Agnes de Launay’s Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise. In order to maximize the expression of fresh fruit, it goes through a three-week fermentation in stainless steel with twice-daily punch-downs and sporadic pump-overs, and it spends ten months in steel.
