Chateau Fuisse Pouilly-Fuisse Les Combettes 2018

Les Combettes has a pale yellow tint with faint green notes. The nose is floral and mineral, with traces of exotic fruit and ripe apples. The attack on the palate is rich and crisp, with scents of white flowers. The wine is fresh on the finish, with a sharp minerality and superb roundness.

The vineyard of Les Combettes, one of three monopole bottlings of Château Fuissé, covers only 4.4 acres inside the village of Fuissé. Vines are densely planted in well-drained soil largely composed of limestone, pebbles, and trace amounts of clay.

The grapes are carried to the cutting-edge winery, where they are processed and placed in barrels for fermentation. The must is aged for 12 months in used oak barrels (3 to 5 years old) at Château Fuissé. This cuvée has no new oak to preserve its lively acidity.
