Antica Cascina Langhe Favorita 2021 750ml

This particular grape type made its way to Piedmont via the Salt Trail, a route that enabled trade in wine, oil, and anchovies with the Ligurian Sea region’s inhabitants. Favorita was historically used at mass as a sweetened vinified beverage. The name has an intriguing history: it is supposed to have been the preferred wine of King Vittorio Emanuele II’s favorite Bela Rusin, or Rosa Vercellana.

Straw yellow with greenish hints; fresh, rich, and quite well-structured; notes of jasmine, banana, and tropical fruit; delicate aroma of fresh fruit and white summer flowers. Perfect with light pasta meals, grilled seafood, and raw veggies to dip in salt and oil. Fantastic pre-dinner beverage. Delicious garden cocktails for summer.
