Quintarelli Valpolicella 2017 750ml

This Valpolicella, which has been barrel-aged for several years, is notable for its strong scent and tannic, long-lasting flavour. Serve with game, ripe cheese, or red meat (duck).

Vinified and matured in casks, the domaine’s premium wine has subtle woody, spiced, and black cherry aromas. It has a lengthy finish with a palate that is robust, rich, and structured. Duck goes very well with this wine.

Giuseppe Quintarelli is considered to be quite simply a legend of Italian viticulture, notably of Amarone, a globally-renowned Venetian wine. After many years of overseeing his 12-hectare property in the northern slopes of Verona, in the center of the Valpolicella appellation, he tragically died in 2012. This winemaker, who was a stickler for detail, gained recognition for his Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and Recioto. He didn’t sell his cuvées until they had aged for several years. A group of four people work at the domain all year round, including Fiorenza, Giuseppe’s daughter, her husband, and their two kids, Francesco and Lorenzo.
