Zenato Ripasso Valpolicella 2019 750ml

A refined and intense wine with bright red fruit aromas that is incredibly smooth and velvety. It has fruity flavors and delicate tannin with touches of chocolate and spice on the palate. Ripassa has played a significant influence in the evolution of the Zenato winery over the years.

When the winery’s Amarone dried grapes have finished fermenting, a top selection of Valpolicella grapes “passes over” (ripassa) the Amarone pomace, resulting in a second brief fermentation. This contributes to a higher alcohol concentration, a richer colour, and a rich flavour and aroma. After 18-20 months in French tonneaux, the wine is cellared for additional 6 months in bottle before release.
