Nuet Dry Aquavit is a fantastic gin alternative that was created to bring Scandinavian moments to the rest of the world. It’s prepared with a potato spirit and botanicals including caraway, blackcurrant, and grapefruit peel. Perfect on its own or with tonic and a sliver of grapefruit peel.

Nuet Aquavit was founded in late 2018 in Oslo, Norway. Morten Pharo Halle, the company’s founder, saw the global rise of craft spirits and thought it was a shame that aquavit, the iconic Scandinavian spirit, remained a Scandinavian secret. Since 1531, aquavit has been a mainstay at Scandinavian holidays such as Christmas and Midsommar. It is prepared in the same way as gin, but with various herbs and spices. Traditional aquavit’s substantial spice influence, such as caraway, fennel, and anise, made it an acquired taste, perfect with hearty Christmas fare but with a restricted range of applications beyond that.
