This is a rich, aromatic, full-bodied, and meaty red wine made from carefully chosen ancient vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, with extremely low yields. Created by one of Rioja’s most remarkable wineries, with the broadest international reach.
Marqués de Cáceres enjoys exceptional international recognition, positioning it as one of the leading wineries in Spanish wine. The Rioja-based firm produces Marqués de Cáceres Reserva 2019 , a red wine made exclusively from the best vintages, using old, low-yield vines and aged for 20 months in French oak barrels.
Located in Cenicero (Rioja Alta), Marqués de Cáceres was founded in 1970 by Valencian Enrique Forner, who decided to apply to Rioja what he learned during his time at Château Camensac (Bordeaux). There, Forner met legendary winemaker Émile Peynaud, who advised him on forging an innovative winemaking line in Rioja . Peynaud’s recipe was based on the use of new French oak barrels (instead of American oak), with shorter aging periods and the pursuit of maximum grape quality.
