Isle Of Jura Prophecy 700ml

The Jura Prophecy is a highly peated whisky, which is unique for the distillery. The majority of Jura’s core range is either unpeated or mildly peated. The Jura Prophecy has a phenol content of 35 ppm. It was aged in Limousine wood casks, also known as European (French) oak. The label reads “Spicy Sea Spray”.

Nicely rounded and attractive nose. Fruity and distinctly peaty. The nose smells of smoke and dry ashes, as well as faint spices. It tastes peaty and has an ashy flavor, much like it smells. Quite dry. The spices are present, as claimed, in the shape of cinnamon, mild pepper, and licorice on the taste. Warm, medium-length, and peaty all the way. It stays dry, and the ashes are always present. The finish is rather salty, which must be due to sea spray.
