Pernod Absinthe was a unique French anise-based liqueur established in France’s first absinthe distillery in 1805. After being banned for years, its recipe was relaunched in 2013 using the original formula. It contains anise, grand wormwood, petit wormwood, hyssop, and melissa, which impart anise, musk, and grassy flavors. Pernod Absinthe has no artificial colors or sugar, and the typical serving is cold water cascading over a sugar cube. It’s also a great way to dress up a cocktail for any occasion. Pernod Absinthe was awarded the Gold Medal in the 2014 International Review of Spirits Award as well as Best in Category at the 2015 Los Angeles International Spirits Competition.
