Fonseca Tawny Port 750ml

On the rim, the colour fades from tawny red to brick. With subtle nuances of butterscotch and spice, the captivating nose offers notes of apricot and plum. Three years are spent maturing Fonseca Tawny in small, 630-liter hardwood casks.

Tawny Port eventually loses the intense red colour of youth known as “ruby” and gradually gains the alluring amber tint known as “tawny” as it ages in cask. The wine also gets gradually mellower and smoother, and its smell becomes richer and more nuanced.

A few months before bottling, the wines are blended together for balance and harmony after three years of aging. For immediate consumption, Fonseca tawnies are packaged.
