Description

The deep red colour of this lovely wine is striking. The aromas of curled cigar leaves and delectable iodine overtones are combined in this wine. Notes of roasted meats and fragrant spices linger after the food has had time to air. A crisp attack gives way to a palate that is infused with flavours of chocolate, cigar, and stewed fruit. As time goes on, the tannins will become more expressive and refined.

Penfolds was recognized as the 2013 New World Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast, a prominent magazine. Due to Mary Penfold’s unwavering perseverance, the Penfolds estate had already been synonymous with premium Australian wines by the start of the 20th century. It’s true that the Penfolds estate’s co-founder gave her all to producing remarkable wines. Her efforts over a lifetime have paid off, as the winery has become a benchmark in Southern Australia. The estate’s wines were imbued with the finesse of outstanding Bordeaux wines, which fascinated Max Schubert, when he joined the Penfolds’ tale in the 1950s. Soon after, the cellar master achieved success with his renowned Grange wines, which captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts worldwide and transcended Australian borders. The gifted Peter Gago has assumed this post as of late.
