Selected only from the finest Sangiovese vintages, the exquisite and finely crafted cuvée takes a lengthy time to mature in French Allier barriques.
Farmers use the native term “tauleto” to identify water-rich territory. The Tauleto estate’s Sangiovese grapes are protected from excessive water stress by bubbling springs beneath them. Umberto Cesari has revived the longanesi grapes, a long-forgotten native variety, for this wine.
Made from the greatest Sangiovese vintages with 10% Longanesi, this is a red wine with excellent structure and durability. The vineyards’ vines are 20 years old on average, and they produce 65 quintals of grapes per hectare, or 6,500 kg, of grapes. Following the meticulous grape selection process, the fermentation process takes place in unique temperature-controlled winemakers that permit an extended maceration period. The wine is matured for a total of 24 months in brand-new 225-liter Allier wood barrels and an additional 6 months in bottles.
