Bombay Sapphire East 700ml

Bombay Sapphire was the first London Dry Gin to be marketed as a ‘super premium’ Gin when it was introduced in the late 1980s.

While many previous gins derived their flavor from four or five botanicals, most notably the juniper berry, Bombay Sapphire employed ten. The distilling method distinguished it at the time. The botanicals in most other gins were cooked with the alcohol. In the case of Bombay Sapphire, however, the spirit was distilled separately. When it goes through the perforated copper botanicals basket, it is in vapour form. This procedure allows each unique aroma from each herb to be absorbed.

The addition of Thai lemongrass and Vietnamese black peppercorns to one of the most popular London Dry Gins ever created brings the total number of botanicals to a round 12 in this ‘East’ edition. A relatively restricted number of direct imports are available.
