In the scent, wet earth and whisky-soaked wood mingle with rich vanilla and smokey embers. Rich in nuanced tastes, compounded by double maturing. Sherbet and zinginess give way to spiciness. William headed out in the summer of 1886, accompanied by his seven boys and two daughters, to fulfill a cherished dream. They began by hand, stone by stone, constructing his distillery. After a year of hard effort, William named it Glenfiddich, which means “Valley of the Deer” in Gaelic.

William’s drive, determination, and pioneering spirit are still with them today.
