The Macallan Quest pays homage to The Macallan’s approximately 20,000-mile expedition to find the best oak.

It finishes with the use of four distinct but complementary cask types to create a single malt whisky that evokes a true desire for further exploration and enjoyment. American bourbon casks are blended with hand-selected sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks and hogsheads to create a flavor profile of citrus fruits and sweet vanilla wood. Quest, which depicts a blue sky, indicates the beginning of a trip in which the globe is a canvas and the sky is the limit.

Every Macallan single malt demonstrates the unrivaled dedication to mastery of wood and spirit for which The Macallan has been known since its inception in 1824. It embodies the distillery’s unwavering commitment to go beyond the ordinary, to seek out the remarkable, and to create unrivaled single malts.

Their unique reputation is defined by the exceptional oak casks for which The Macallan is famous. The hand-picked casks are delivered to the Whisky Mastery Team’s exacting standards after being sourced, created, toasted, and seasoned under the watchful eye of the Master of Wood. The oak contributes the most to the quality, natural colour, and distinct aromas and flavours at the heart of this single malt whisky.

Once filled, the mature spirit is left undisturbed in the same casks for the length of years required to be worthy of its Macallan expression. These oak casks contribute the most to the quality, natural colour, and distinct aromas and flavours that are at the heart of The Macallan single malt.
