Description

Layers of luscious black fruit are mixed with tobacco, sous-bois, marmalade, and dried orange peel in this usually enticing fragrance. After one further hour, more blue fruit starts to appear. The medium-bodied palate has opulent, luxurious black fruit and a creamy texture that is appealing right away. It has a satin-like finish and is a more sumptuous Saint-Julien than the Barton.

Château Léoville Poyferré, a Second Classified Growth from 1855, is a member of the exclusive club of Bordeaux Grands Crus. The Léoville Poyferré estate, whose history dates back to 1638, is a true gem of the Médoc. Sarah Lecompte-Cuvelier, who succeeded Didier Cuvelier as the person in charge of this icon of the Saint-Julien appellation, is currently in charge.

Château Léoville-Poyferré, which enjoys a wonderful site in the Saint-Julien appellation, rules over a 60-hectare vineyard used to produce the château’s First Wine and Second Wine. The vineyards, which are 37 years old on average, are situated on clayey-sandy subsoils on Mindel gravel terraces. Since the 2017 harvest, the estate has held HVE 3 accreditation.
