Description
To provide its rich, sweet shortbread-like flavour, A Night on Earth in Scotland is made from a selection of The Macallan’s excellent American and European oak sherry seasoned casks, as well as American ex-bourbon barrels. A whisky inspired by the rich Scottish delicacy typically given and consumed at Hogmanay, with festive aromas of dried orange and spice.

Hogmanay, pronounced “hogmuhnei,” is Scotland’s well-known New Year’s Eve celebration. Erica Dorn’s handmade designs highlight some of Scotland’s Hogmanay rituals, such as the act of ‘first footing,’ when it is good luck for a dark-haired visitor to be the first person to cross the threshold of your home after midnight.
The ‘first footer’ is expected to bring three items: shortbread, whisky, and coal for the fire. Each present is intended to offer you joy and comfort for the rest of the year. Shortbread is a prevalent flavor in the whisky as well.
